Privacy Notice

Last updated: 30 August 2026

1. Who we are

BlackLine Leadership, operator of Blackline Academy, is the data controller for the personal data described in this notice. That means we decide how and why your personal data is processed when you use this website, apply to the Academy, or take part in the program.

2. What we collect

  • Application data — your name, email address, and the answers you choose to give in the application form.
  • Contact & support messages — correspondence when you contact us.
  • Usage & technical data — IP address, device and browser identifiers, and basic usage/telemetry data.

Payment details (card numbers, billing details) are collected and processed directly by Stripe, our payment processor — we never see or store your full card details.

3. Why we use it & legal basis

  • Reviewing your application and administering the program — contract performance.
  • Sending application confirmations and program communications — contract performance and legitimate interests.
  • Security, fraud prevention, and service improvement — legitimate interests.
  • Marketing updates where you have opted in — consent (you can withdraw at any time).
  • Meeting legal and tax obligations — legal obligation.

4. Who we share it with

  • Stripe — our payment processor — for taking payment for the program, fraud prevention, and receipts.
  • Service providers/subprocessors — hosting, database, and email delivery providers who process data on our behalf.
  • Professional advisers (legal, accounting) where needed.
  • Authorities, where required by law.

We do not sell your personal data.

5. Retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above — for example, for the duration of the program and any period required by tax or accounting law — after which it is deleted or anonymised.

6. Your rights

Depending on your country, you have rights over your personal data. If you are in the UK or EEA, these include the right to access, rectify, or erase your data; restrict or object to processing; data portability; withdraw consent; and complain to your supervisory authority. We respond to requests within one month. To exercise any right, contact us via the Blackline Academy website.

7. International transfers

Some of our service providers process data outside the UK/EEA. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses.

8. Security

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures — including encryption in transit, access controls, and least-privilege access — to protect your personal data.

9. Cookies

This site uses essential storage required for the site and checkout to function. We do not use marketing or third-party advertising cookies.
